Sally Carter
Sally bought her first Epoch 4-string in 1999. While she has been very happy with it, she became increasingly aware of the need for a lower sound. In July 2004, Sally bought her Hot Pink Epoch 5 String violin.
Sally is more than happy with it. Whether she is playing classical, bluegrass, Irish, blues or jazz, this beautiful instrument responds with clarity and style.
Sally comments: My fingers just fall into place on the fingerboard. The fifth string has not compromised my agility and double-stopping is a delight. The strings are closer together, so I can do more flash stuff, because it's easier, particularly as I have small hands.
Sally's band members are excited by the new sound this violin can produce.
"It's magical!" - Steve Smith ( drummer)
"WOW! Maybe I should get a new guitar", - Tom Connor ( Guitarist)
"What a sound!", - Pete Bonner ( Lead Singer)
" I'd have picked the colour black, but if I shut my eyes, I love it," - Andrew Charman- Williams ( Bass)
SALLY CARTER is a gifted singer/songwriter. Performing as a session musician as both fiddle and key board player has won her respect in many genres - notably her work with Patrick Gambles on Tiger Trail and Gary Smith on Mexico. Sally has previously performed with the Dead Kilkennys and Leisure Suit Larry as well as playing solo.
Sally is currently playing fiddle in SPIRAL, a band that mixes a variety of music styles; celtic, contemporary, pop, rock and jazz. Their music is original, dealing with issues of the soul and reflections on the world we live in.
